Sinossi / Synopsis

La voglia di vedere nuovamente Serena così piena di quell’energia che lo aveva travolto quando si erano conosciuti e che lo aveva fatto innamorare di lei è forte, così come il bisogno di riprendere fiato dal dolore che lo schiaccia a terra ogni volta che si prende cura di lei ora che non sembra più la stessa. La volontà di scacciare via la sofferenza lo farà cadere schiavo del dispositivo, allontanandosi sempre di più dalla realtà e da Serena, in un vortice ripetitivo di giornate trascorse nel caldo abbraccio del passato. Il legame e l’amore che lo lega a sua moglie riuscirà però a spezzare questo morboso ciclo ed a ricordare ad Alfredo che la sua Serena è sempre lì accanto a lui.

His desire to see Serena full of that energy she used to have when they met and fell in love, is as strong as his need to catch some breath from the pain he feels when he sees her now, laying on the bed with empty eyes. Slave of the device, he will move away from reality and from Serena, in the vain attempt to chase the pain away, lost inside a never ending vortex of days, spent in the warm embrace of the past. The bond of love that he shares with his wife will break this vicious circle and Alfredo will finally be at peace with the suffering he feels, knowing that his wife is still beside him.

Per affrontare la sofferenza nel vedere la moglie a letto malata, Alfredo, un uomo di una settantina di anni, costruirà un dispositivo che gli permetterà di rivivere in prima persona, alcuni ricordi impressi su delle vecchie pellicole Super 8.
To deal with the pain of witnessing his wife's illness, Alfredo, a 70 year old man, has built a device that allows him to playback old Super 8 films on a visor, to relive the memories of when he and his wife were young.

Biografia del regista / Director Biography

Giantommaso Puglisi è un regista italiano, nato a Firenze nel 1986. Dopo gli studi di fotografia, si concentra soprattutto sul potenziale narrativo che le immagini in movimento possiedono ed inizia a sviluppare il suo stile, mescolando una composizione pulita ed armonica con un linguaggio potente e cinematico. Che si tratti di un fashion movie o di un commercial, è sempre alla ricerca di una storia da raccontare ed il suo amore per la narrazione e la sua empatia, riescono a fargli ottenere performance emozionanti dagli attori e modelli con cui lavora. Collabora regolarmente con molte aziende, dando forma ogni volta ad un nuovo mondo, in linea con il brand. Ha realizzato commercial per molte agenzie e TV ed ha ricevuto diverse nomination nei Fashion Film Festival di tutto il mondo. Nel 2021 dirige il suo primo cortometraggio, Argento Vivo.

Giantommaso Puglisi is an Italian director living in Florence and working all around the world mostly on fashion and advertising projects. After studying photography at school, he concentrated more on the narrative potential that images in motion posses and began to develop his style, mixing a pleasing and clean composition with a powerful and cinematic language. He’s always looking for a story to tell, even when he’s shooting a fashion commercial and his empathy and love for storytelling helps him draw emotive and honest performances from actors and models. He regularly works for many companies, creating every time a different world shaped around the brand itself, has published several commercials for many agencies and TV networks and has been selected and nominated in Fashion Film Festivals around the world. In 2021 he directs his first short movie, Argento Vivo.
